Based in Kansas City, Missouri, Sertoma is a 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) non-profit international organization. It has 20,000 members, thousands of volunteers and over 700 clubs that have raised more than $20 million to support Sertoma’s causes – hearing loss.
The Sertoma Foundation is an international charity that supports Sertoma’s approved charitable and educational programs through fundraising, investment of funds and the distribution of proceeds from funds raised. Sertoma represents SERvice TO MAankind. The focus of Sertoma is always centered around speech and hearing programs.
The Sertoma Foundation established in 1960, serves to strengthen the partnership between its international organization and the many Sertoma clubs. It began building Sertoma Centers for Communication Disorders in 1973, and is now affiliated with over 300 speech and hearing facilities and departments.
The Sertoma Foundation also provides funding for scholarships and grants and offers public education materials and an advisory council of speech and hearing professionals. Eight percent of The Sertoma Foundation’s funding to support services comes from The Annual Fund.
