Art is a big ticket item. Most art collectors will pay top dollar for a great piece, no matter how overpriced it may seem to those who don’t follow the trends. Due to that fact, when fundraisers include art in their plans, it is almost guaranteed to net a large profit.
Most often art fundraisers are put together as an auction, either silent or not. Depending on the type of fundraiser, the art pieces may be from a new unknown talent or well known works that many are itching to obtain. Schools have their version of art fundraisers at times, however, and will display the students’ art and ask for bids from all the parents. These are obviously not high priced items, but the art appreciation is still there.
