In many cases participants go around selling ‘sandwich cards’ to those willing to donate. These cards will offer savings for the buyer, much like a coupon, often with a buy-one-get-one-free promise. Some sandwich fundraisers are quite different than the card type. Some sandwich companies offer fundraisers where a menu or brochure is given out, and actual food items are ordered from it. This type of fundraising is more often used with cookie and muffin dough, but sandwiches are also an available product.
These food fundraisers are most often used in schools or groups that children are involved in. The simplicity of it is excellent for younger people and it is very easy to find customers who would like sandwiches and other food items and who would also like to donate to a good cause. All the child needs to do is bring the brochure or menu around to friends and family, who go ahead and fill out a form. It is an excellent way to teach children interpersonal skills, as well as the value of that dollar making a charitable contribution.
